Biography

Dr. Kathryn Armstrong is a Pediatric Cardiologist at the BC Children’s Hospital. Specializing in heart function and heart transplant, she holds significant international expertise (having worked in hospitals across the U.K., Australia and Canada). Prior to joining the BC team, she was a subspecialty fellow in Heart Function & Transplant at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

 

Dr. Armstrong’s expertise in heart transplant is central to her clinical and research focus. She is a member of both the Canadian National Transplant Research Program and the International Pediatric Transplant Association, and her research has been published in numerous peer reviewed journals. She has received multiple awards for her research efforts including the ITCC award for Cardiovascular Research Excellence in Pediatric Cardiology (2015) and the Child & Family Research Institute Award for Outstanding Achievement by a Clinical subspecialty Resident or Fellow (2015).
